This selection contains guides for the most used parts of this application. Including the starting, search screen and the tour screen. Click on the buttons bellow to view the guide for each section

Search

​By Text

The user can type in the place they want to search, by simply typing anywhere on the "Search Some Place On Liquid Galaxy" then click on the search icon.

​By Voice

In order to perform a voice search, the user must click on the microphone icon. Then must say the place they want to search. ​

Filter by Category

On the Current Category box, located on the upper left corner of the search screen, there is a category filtering box. By clicking on the category titles, as shown - the main screen will get ​filtered by the clicked category. By clicking on the home icon, it returns to the root category for the selected planet as well as a click on the arrow will go back to the parent category of the currently selected.

Change Planet

By clicking any of the globes that represents the Earth, the Moon and Mars, Liquid Galaxy will change the displayed planet and its corresponding categories and POIS.

View Points Of Interest

​View Points of Interest

By clicking on the name of any item of the list, Liquid Galaxy will navigate to said place.

​Rotating Points of Interest

After the user clicks on a location, Liquid Galaxy will navigate there then the  circular arrows icons will turn black - indicating that rotation over this POI has been enabled and if the user clicks on it, the camera will begin to move around the location in a circular way.

​Change Rotation Speed

Once the rotation is being played, a dialog allows the user to change the rotation speed by increasing or decreasing it by 2 or by 4. When the user clicks the cancel button, the tour stops.

By clicking on any of the buttons, Liquid Galaxy will begin the tour - visiting and spending time in each area of the tour, to stop the tour simply click on the stop button.​​
 

Admin Authentication

By clicking on the menu on the right corner of the screen, the menu will appear in order to enter into the administration menu, the administrator must click on Administration Tools Option.

​After that, a dialog will prompt for the administrative password (by default: lg) and once entered, it will redirect to the administration section.

Once the administrator has logged in, the menu shows as follows:

  • Help: Opens the help page
  • Settings: This is where administrator can modify application wide variables
  • Liquid Galaxy connection User: The user name to connect to Liquid Galaxy via ssh
  • Liquid Galaxy connection Password: The password to connect to Liquid Galaxy via ssh
  • Liquid Galaxy connection Host Name (IP): The IP of the Liquid Galaxy Master 
  • Liquid Galaxy connection Port: The port to connect to Liquid Galaxy via ssh
  • Administration Password: The password to enter into the administration section of the application
  • Kiosk Mode: Enable the kiosk mode on the application, which means that it can no be closed. Bear in mind that if this is enabled, no other application can be launched over Liquid Galaxy Controller.
  • Server ip variable for advanced tasks: The IP address of the server that hosts the tasks/external applications which are configured.
  • Server port variable for advanced tasks: The port to open the browser in order to show the tasks/external applications when they are executed.
  • Reset Database: Reset the application database loading the default categories, pois, tours and tasks.
  • Export Database to local storage: Makes a copy of the current working database into the internal storage of the device.
  • Log Out: Closes the administration screen and goes back to the user interface.
  • About: Shows about dialog
 

Categories & POIS Screen

This screen allows the administrator to seamlessly edit the categories and pois defined inside the application as well as add, edit or remove any new category/subcategory or POI inside them.

​Categories Management

Clicking the green folder icon over a category, shows the screen that allows the addition of a child category inside the clicked one. ​

Clicking the green pencil icon over a category, shows the screen that allows to modify the selected category. Via this screen, a category can be re-positioned under another category.

​Clicking the red trashbin icon over a category, delete the selected category and its contained POIS.

​Pois Management

Clicking the green location icon over a category, the screen that allows the creation of a new POI inside the selected category is shown. By clicking on the map, the values of latitude and longitude can be automatically taken.

Clicking the green pencil icon over a poi , shows the screen that allows to modify the values of the poi. By a longclick on the location marker placed on the map, it can be repositioned to the desired new position. ​

Clicking the red trashbin icon over a poi, delete the selected poi.
 

​Tours Screen

This screen allows the administrator to create, edit or delete tours of pois. If the administrator clicks on the green plus icon, it will be redirected to the tour creation screen. The creation screen will be the same to the edition one. As an example, in this section I will explain the case of the edition, which has all the fields filled with values and for the explanation purposes, it will be better. Going back to the above picture, if the administrator clicks on the name on any tour, the following contextual menu will be displayed. ​

By clicking on the red icon, the tour will be removed. On the other hand, clicking on the yellow icon, the next screen will be shown.

This screen has 4 separated parts which will be following explained:
  1. The main characteristics of the tour, such as its name, visibility, category and default poi interval. This interval will be the default value of the stop duration in new added pois. This value can be afterwards changed for each POI.
  2. This section show the categories filter for the shown pois in the next section.
  3. In this section, the filtered pois are shown. By clicking one of them, a dialog with a green plus button and a grey cross is displayed. By clicking the grey cross the dialog closes, and by clicking the green plus icon, the previously selected poi are moved to section 4.
  4. This section allows the ordering of the pois by moving them up/down with the corresponding arrow button. Furthermore, the default stop duration can be customized for each one of them as well as the removal of any one by clicking the black minus button.
 

Tools Screen

This screen allows the administrator to control the Liquid Galaxy Master through the buttons displayed in it.
  • The blue button named "Import Pois" lets the administrator to select in which way she/he wants to import POIS: either via a file upload formatted as the default queries.txt file or via a Physical Web Beacon, which must be emitting a KML file configured either via the BYOP application or manual. In this last case, it has to be taken into consideration the fact that the file must follow the KML specification.
  • The green button named "Relaunch LG" performs a relaunch on all the screen of Liquid Galaxy.
  • The yellow button named "Reboot LG" reboots all the machines configured on the Liquid Galaxy Cluster.
  • The red button named "Shutdown LG" stops all the machines that are running on the Liquid Galaxy.
 

​LG Tasks Screen

This screen allows the configuration of external projects that can be launched and displayed on a Liquid Galaxy Installation. This projects can be launched and stopped directly from this screen after they have been configured.

​Task Configuration

  • Task Description: The task description
  • Execution Script: The script executed when the task is launched
  • Upload Execution Script: Upload a file containing the run script
  • Shutdown Script: The Script executed when the task is stopped
  • Upload Shutdown Script: Upload a file containing the stop script
  • IP where launch the task: The IP of the server where the task should be executed. If no specified, then the default value from the application setting will be used
  • SSH UserName: The username to connect to the server via ssh. If no specified, then the default value from the application setting will be used
  • SSH Password: The password to connect to the server via ssh. If no specified, then the default value from the application setting will be used
  • Open Browser URL: If specified, when the task finishes its initial script, a web browser pointing to this URL will be opened
  • Select a Logo for this task: Offers the possibility to upload an image associated with this task that will be displayed next to the task title in the list
  • Save: Save the task
  • Cancel: Cancel and close the dialog

​Task Execution

After the task has been created and configured, the user is returned back to the list screen. In this screen, she/he can launch a task by clicking the play arrow button. If the task has a browser URL configured, when the launching has been done, a browser is opened in this URL. If the task has a stop script, the play button changes into a stop button through which the administrator can stop the task. Only one task can be executed simultaneously.
 

​Scan Beacon Screen

Through this screen the administrator can scan for nearby Physical Web Beacons. If the beacon is emitting a Google Drive document in KML format, two buttons will appear under the beacon URL. This document can be created, filled with pois and uploaded to the beacon with the use of the BYOP app.
​
If the beacon doesn't appear on the list, a swipe on the screen must be done.

​Import POIS

This button imports directly the POIS to the folder/category "Imported Beacons" inside the application.

​Import as TOUR

This button opens a dialog in which the user can configure the TOUR settings before importing the POIS. The POIS will be uploaded inside the folder/category "Imported Beacons" and a tour will be created with the parameters configured through the dialog.
